Duo Extasia, a unique circus act, contortion on ballet toe shoes and saxophone
Considered one of the most innovative concept in contortion, Duo Extasia offers a
unique combination of grace, poetry, outstanding physical ability and live music,
in a memorable conception that combines fascinating circus skills and sophisticated
elegance. For the very first time, a musician also acting as a physical partner while
playing his saxophone.
Jacynthe Normandeau has been performing professionally around the world since
1973, with great companies such as "Cirque du Soleil", "Les Grand Ballets Canadiens",
"Les Ballets Jazz de Montréal" , "Cirque Eloize", "Norwegian Cruise Line", just to
name a few... In 1991, she received a grant from the Government of Quebec for the
creation of a new artistic concept (contortion on ballet toe shoes) and was ranked first
amongst all candidates.
Saxophonist, composer and arranger, Vincent Pellerin has been working professionally
in the music business for nearly 15 years, and is regularly engaged especially for his
strong presence and inexhaustible energy! He's been working over the years with hundreds of
bands, artists and producers such as "Dansesing","Marie-Michelle Desrosiers","Pierre Séguin",
"Chico Band", "Audrey DeMontigny", just to name a few. He also compose and produce music for
advertisements, websites and corporate video presentations.
In 2000, Jacynthe created another new concept and formed her partner to become the first
musician capable to do lifts while playing. Three years later, Vincent is now able to do
some basic contortion figures, also while playing. They perform worldwide in variety,
corporate events, circus, etc...
They offers presently four duos:
"- Duo Extasia", a magical and romantic act
"- Huang Chung", a chinese concept
"- Leave your hat on" a cabaret act
"- Lush Tango", a modern tango-contortion.
Jacynthe offers one solo:
"- What a wonderful world" and also creates custom acts for many clients.
Vincent performs also solo saxophone, with a diversified music repertoire.
